William Brydon

William Patrick Brydon was born in 1980 in West Berlin, Germany to Oskar and Ola Brydon. Oskar was a failed businessman and Ola was a midwife. In the hopes of a better life, the family moved to Newtown, Connecticut in 1985 from West Berlin, Germany. William Brydon was only five years old at the time. When he began Elementary School, he was ridiculed and mocked by his classmates for his unusual clothes, appearance, and accent. Nicknames such as ‘Nazi’ and ‘Shorty’ were a commonplace in school. These biting nicknames stung him to the very core, almost completely and utterly destroying his sense of confidence in his rich culture and heritage. Even as these nicknames were carelessly thrown at him, he never became ashamed of his German ancestry and instead embraced it.
It was in High School that he found his love for politics when he ran for Student President and won. His love for politics soon blossomed into volunteering for political activities beyond the scope of his High School such as volunteering for elections. This continued throughout his High School career until he eventually graduated High School as a valedictorian. After graduating in 1997, He went to the University of Connecticut on a full scholarship to study Law and Government. Continuing his passion for politics, he acquired his undergraduate for Political Science in under 2 years. From there, he attended Yale Law School and acquired his Master’s degree. He is now a prosecutor for a law firm in Newtown, Connecticut. However, in October of 2016 he has decided to run for the state legislature position for the 5th District. Supported by the Surprise Party, William Brydon is running for office because he simply wants to help people. He wants to do all he can to help anyone that needs assistance. Whether it be making healthcare affordable or making the economy work for the poor, middle class, and upper class alike, he wants to be the candidate that can make a profound and positive impact on the world.
