Abortion: A Woman’s Right to Choose

Ever since landmark decision of Roe v. Wade which gave women the personal right to terminate a pregnancy, extreme divisiveness and hot debate about this topic has existed throughout the United States. Since then, laws and regulations have been introduced restricting women from having an abortion. These laws subvert the Roe v. Wade decision and impede on a woman’s personal privacy. Here at the Surprise Party, I, William Brydon, our candidate running for 5th District of Connecticut, believe that the government has no right to make this very personal decision for. We believe a mother can make the best decision for her child in that scenario and the government has no right to make that decision for her.
Many misconceptions about abortions have been perpetrated by Congressmen, Mayors, and even the Presidential Candidates. For instance, it has been said that you can “rip the baby from the mother’s womb on the day before the birth date”. This type of fear rhetoric and egregious misinformation about abortion is harmful to the American public because what was said is simply not true. To remove the baby from the mother’s womb a day from the birth date is called a birth not an abortion.
If elected, I will fight to protect a woman’s right to have an abortion at any cost because our party supports abortion and the Roe v. Wade decision.
